Adult Discipleship at Shepherd of the Valley:

Sunday School

The Christian walk is not meant to be something done alone. Our mission at Shepherd is to connect people to Christ while also connecting people to each other. Community is an essential need of every human being, it is how God has wired us up. Small Groups are the foundation of virtually everything that takes place at Shepherd. We encourage you to get connected in a small group. Find out more about Small Groups.

Classes and Events

Shepherd hosts a variety of classes and events throughout the year. These classes and events range from Bible studies, to special guest speakers, satellite broadcasts, prayer classes, marriage conferences, and the list goes on. These opportunities are open to everyone and anyone, so invite your family and friends! These classes and events are a great way to grow deeper in faith, meet new people, and learn new things!

Recreational Groups

Bicycle Group

This group is led by Robert and Jane Hanson. The group meets for a ride on Saturday mornings throughout the summer. For information on future rides contact Robert and Jane at 612.703.5157

"Shepherd's Flock" Motorcycle Group

This group meets for rides two times a month. Visit their website for more information here.

 

Men's Ministry

We believe that it is so important for guys to have time to hang out and build relationships with each other. Join us for some (or all) of these opportunites:

Men's Small Groups:

Men's Small Group meet throughout the week for study and fellowship.  Visit the small groups page to see a list of small groups that you can join!

Friday Morning Gatherings:

Periodically through the year we invite all Shepherd men to meet at church on Friday morning for breakfast, fellowship, and Bible study. 

Women's Ministry

2008 Women's Retreat--September 5-7, 2008

Get away and enjoy fun, fellowship and a makeover--a character makeover.  The transforming work that Christ does in our lives is done with love and grace.  Be a part of this exciting weekend, as we invite God to transform us to be more like Him.  $140 covers two nights lodging, meals, sessions, and fun!  Watch for registration information later in June.  For more information, talk to Kristin Lagus.

Young Adults

RETRO (Young Adults)

RETRO (Real Experiences That Reach Others) is a group of young adults that gets together for various activities throughout the year. The core of RETRO is a group study that happens on Monday nights from 6:30 to 8:00 pm at the church. We also have occasional social events throughout the year.
