Sunday School

Confirmation begins Wednesday, September 9th at 6:30pm!

 

 

Confirmation Program Time Line:

Shepherd's Confirmation Program runs 2 full school years (7th and 8th grade), and then 6 weeks of a student's 9th grade year.  Confirmation Sunday is typically the last Sunday afternoon in October.

We use a two year rotating curriculum. Year "A" is "An Overview of the Bible". Year "B" is "Basics of Our Christian Faith". 

 

 

What is the Purpose of Confirmation?

Confirmation is an opportunity to learn and grow and ultimately say "yes" to Jesus.  On Confirmation Sunday you are invited to publicly affirm your baptism and say that you will trust Jesus as your Lord and Savior. 

We have 3 Big Goals for Confirmation at SOV:

    1. To Glorify God

    2. To Build Relationships (with Jesus and with Others)

    3. To Study and Discuss important Basics of Christianity and Discipleship 



What Does a Typical Wednesday Look Like?

We meet from 6:30 to 8:00 pm on Wednesday evenings beginning in September.

From 6:30 to 7:15 pm we typically meet as a large group (with a worship time and large group teaching).

From 7:15 to 8:00 pm we typically meet in assigned small groups (led by an adult small group leader).
